With two young daughters at home, it’s a place not only for cooking, but also for tasting, chatting and spending time together. For their hob, they chose Novy Panorama Matte Line. It was the combination of the matt black design, integrated extraction and ease of use that won them over.
A sense of calm in the kitchen
“When we designed our kitchen, we wanted to keep the overall look as calm and open as possible,” Eline explains. “A traditional cooker hood didn’t really fit with that idea. With Novy Panorama, the extractor only appears when you need it. Once you’ve finished cooking, it disappears from view again. It really makes a difference to the overall look of the kitchen.”
The kitchen remains pleasantly quiet while they cook too. Benoit: “You can see the steam being drawn straight into the extractor, yet you hardly hear it. We like to catch up on our day while we’re cooking or put some music on. It’s nice when the extraction doesn’t overpower everything else.”
A kitchen made for everyday life
For Benoit and Eline, the matt finish was initially an aesthetic choice. In everyday use, however, they have found it has practical advantages too.
“The matt black finish really appealed to us,” says Eline. “It gives the hob a very understated, elegant look. Now that we use it every day, we’ve also noticed how practical it is. Fingerprints and small signs of everyday use are much less noticeable. With two young children at home, that’s definitely a plus.”
And cooking has become a family affair too. “Our eldest daughter loves coming over to help,” Eline smiles. “Whenever we’re cooking, she wants to join in and have a go at everything. Those little moments together are actually some of the nicest times we spend in our kitchen.”
Everything within easy reach
The layout of the hob works particularly well for the family too. Because the cooking zones are positioned side by side, pots and pans are easy to reach. The zones can also be combined whenever a larger cooking surface is needed.
“They’re the kind of things you stop thinking about after a while,” says Benoit. “Everything is where you expect it to be and it all feels very intuitive to use.”
The amount of storage space beneath the hob was another pleasant surprise. “Even with the integrated extraction, you lose hardly any storage space. We still have a full-size cutlery drawer and two spacious drawers for our pots and pans. It’s something we really appreciate in everyday use.”
And after cooking?
“Once you’ve finished cooking, the last thing you want is to spend ages cleaning up,” Eline smiles. “We simply wipe down the hob and the extractor disappears from view again. The kitchen immediately looks calm and uncluttered. That’s still one of my favourite things about it.”
After several months of use, Novy Panorama Matte Line has become a natural part of their everyday kitchen routine.
“For us, it’s the complete package that matters,” Eline concludes. “It looks beautiful, but it also performs really well. The extraction does exactly what it needs to do without making a lot of noise, and the hob is really pleasant to use. Yes, we’re definitely fans.”
